Omaha Standard Employee's Attendance Scores an A+ |
|
Dan McGrath is a Journeyman Welder in Eagle Lift area at East Plant.
He will celebrate his 10th anniversary on August 30th. He has had a perfect
attendance record since 2002 – that’s zero unexcused time in three years! Dan
even took his break time for the interview. How has he managed not to miss any time?
“It’s called survival – I’m old enough now that I don’t go out at night and carouse and
whoop it up.” Dan says he has a son who is a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School
with plans to go to college at UNO, so he’ll be busy with this next year. “Look at
that – nose to the grindstone,” he says. “Work is work, but I like the people,”
he responded when asked what motivates him to show up everyday on time. We joked with
Dan about how his co-workers may feel about his attendance recognition. He said, “As
short as I am, everyone already looks down upon me.”
